Why Chemical Dwell Time Is Important

Chemical dwell time means how long a chemical needs to stay wet on a surface before wiping it away. This gives the chemical enough time to properly clean, disinfect, and kill germs.

One common mistake is spraying a surface and wiping it immediately. If the chemical is removed too quickly, it may not work the way it is supposed to.

For example, Proxy 4D should stay wet on the surface for about 5–10 minutes depending on the disinfecting task. Always check the label for the correct instructions.

A few reminders:

• Let chemicals sit for the required time

• Keep the surface visibly wet while the chemical works

• Reapply if it dries too fast

• Ask your manager if you are unsure about dwell times
